This is a wonderful product with just a few flaws. The machine breaks down easily but Specialty Store Services is good about replacing items that won't function as desired. Our patrons love to see our "space age" technology when they're checking out!

We are using this at the front desk of our small library. It is very handy to retrieve items for the patron and replace when the item comes in.

In 2005, our library had many missing/stolen DVDs...after going to this system in 2006, we had ONE missing title. Not bad! We have been using these [we now have 5] for almost a year, and we love them. I think you can stack up 6 or 7 of them. This unit can be used with your computer--you scan in a number and out pops the DVD, or, you just punch the number in manually and it spits it out.
If used manually (actually entering the numbers on the unit's keypad rather than using the PC Database) it works very well for most game systems as well as DVD or CD formats. However, Gamecube or any smaller disks (IE: 3 inch) get hung up in the system.
If you use the database, It has alot of bugs and it is hard to use more than one unit per computer. Even though the specs allow for 5 per computer.
