No, I would not recommend this to a friend
The shelves arrived [...]with no instructions on how to assemble. It took a very long time to hammer out the bent shelves so they would fit into the frames. The shelves do not have clamps to attach them to each other which makes for a very sloppy wall and flimsy shelves.
